“State of Curiosity” is Julie’s 1st solo album. She has been performing and recording with her parents (Jean and Jim Strathdee) since she was four. (We are the Children - 1993 and Reach Out Children - 2004) Now she emerges in her own right as song writer, performer and recording artist.

This CD contains 15 of Julie’s own songs that tell of her life experiences and journey. You will rejoice and weep with her as she weaves magic and truth with her lyric singing and unusual harmonies. One additional song, ‘Song of Hope’ (Jim Strathdee, 1988) is poignantly covered by Julie. Her rewrite of two of the verses enables the song to stand as a radical call for inclusion of all people in this century.

bio notes: Julie is currently a 4th year student at the Univerisity of California, Santa Cruz where she is studying Psychology and Theater Arts and involved in music productions. She is a resident assistant this year and runs her dorm much like a youth group. She is an active member of ‘Feast’, a progressive Christian campus group, and teaches 5th & 6th grade Sunday School at the UCC church. She was on the summer staff at Naramata Centre summer of 2008 and hopes to return there in 2009.
